“House of Cards” fans were just dealt a major piece of good news. Netflix announced the release date for the third season of the critically acclaimed political drama starring Kevin Spacey would be Feb. 27, 2015. In a spoiler for viewers who haven’t caught up with the events at the end of previous season, the network teased the info via a short teaser video of Spacey’s newly inaugurated President Frank Underwood walking up the steps of Air Force One. The post was entitled, “A special message from the White House.” Little is known about the trajectory of the 13-episode third season, but Spacey did tease some hints to E! News in a recent interview. Producers Beau Willimon (who doubles as head writer) and David Fincher have a “desire to see just how dark that well is and how deep does it go. We have miles to go before we sleep,” said the actor. Adapted from the BBC drama of the same name, the second season was released this past February — and reportedly binge-watched by 638,000 viewers in the first weekend alone, according to The Verge.
