(Photo: thanhuytphcm.vn)Addressing the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the city People’s Committee Huynh Cach Mang sent congratulations to the Netherlands’ Consul General to the city, his wife and all Dutch citizens in the city, adding that he was happy with the strongly developed bilateral relationship between the two countries which covered diverse areas such as agriculture, education, culture and tourism. According to Mr. Mang, as Vietnam was facing environmental problems, especially climate change, the cooperation in climate change adaptation and water management between Vietnam and the Netherlands was a key point in the bilateral relationship. “In Ho Chi Minh city, many environmental and agricultural projects have been sponsored by the Government of the Netherlands, which is evidence for the practical cooperation between the two countries’ localities,” he added. He confirmed that Ho Chi Minh city, in the upcoming time, would work with the Netherlands Consulate General to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Vietnam – Netherlands diplomatic relationship, thus reinforcing the relationship and mutual understanding between the two countries.
