Beijing announced it will limit the total number of shared bikes in the central urban area within 800,000 units this year, according to the city's Commission of Transport, Beijing Youth Daily reported on Tuesday. As the road system has been upgraded and the government has issued policies to promote green transportation, the number of registered shared bikes hit 844,000 in Beijing last year. The annual usage reached 690 million rides in 2020, with the average daily figure increasing 13.4 percent year-on-year to 1.89 million. To create an open, fair, competitive and orderly business environment in the shared vehicle sector, regulators set caps on total bicycle volume in the capital's central downtown area, with Meituan Bike at most 400,000, Halo Bike at 210,000 and Didi Bike at 190,000 units this year. Walt Disney chairman Bob Iger will receive an honorary Clio Award later this month during a fireside chat as the longtime executive moves into the home stretch of his tenure at the entertainment giant. The Clios – the major award ceremony for creative advertising — said Wednesday that Iger will accept award during a virtual fireside chat April 28 moderated by Asad Ayaz, president of marketing for Disney Studios Content and recipient of the 2019 Clio Entertainment Marketing Mastermind Award. Iger, who is Disney’s executive chairman as well as chairman of the board, was CEO for 15 years before handing the reins to Bob Chapek last February. He will step down at the end of the year. Dovizioso is taking a sabbatical in 2021 after losing his place at Ducati at the end of last season following eight years with the Italian marque. He was offered a race seat with Aprilia for 2021 as well as several test rider roles – including the Yamaha gig that went to Cal Crutchlow – but declined all deals to work towards a full-time MotoGP race return in 2022. Aprilia announced last month it had struck an agreement with Dovizioso for him to ride the RS-GP at a private test at Jerez from April 12-14.
