eufyCam 2C Review: 2C or not 2C
Source: Christopher Close / iMore A wise person once said that you can never have too many cameras around the home. As prices go down and wireless camera technology improves, we are indeed living in the times where covering an entire home is feasible. One company leading the push toward a genuinely secure home is Anker's smart home brand eufy, which has been on quite the roll as of late with product updates and releases. I have been testing out a pair of eufyCam 2Cs around my home for the past few weeks, both indoors and out, to accompany my existing eufyCam 2's , which I am quite fond of. Even though I was already familiar with how great the eufyCam 2's were, I was even more impressed by the 2C, and I can easily say that it is simply one of the best cameras around. Next level night vision eufyCam 2C Bottom line: The eufyCam 2C offers great video quality and an impressive amount of features all in an affordable package that doesn't require … [Read more...] about eufyCam 2C Review: 2C or not 2C
eufy Indoor Cam Pan 2K Review: Pan, tilt, and promises
Source: Christopher Close / iMore Affordable smart security cameras are pretty much a dime a dozen these days, with thousands available at places like Amazon for as little as $20. However, low-cost options usually have some fairly significant trade-offs, like terrible image quality, janky app experiences, or security issues that can broadcast your daily life to millions. Things are changing, though, with companies including Wyze and Anker's smart home arm, eufy, leading a new charge with cost-effective options that do not skimp on the important stuff. eufy, in particular, has been on a roll as of late, with the company releasing several of my favorite completely wireless outdoor cameras and a video doorbell over the past few months. They have also continuously improved their offerings by adding features like Apple's HomeKit for free through firmware updates. The latest releases from eufy, the Indoor Cam Pan 2K and the Indoor Cam 2K , are both as you would expect, aimed at … [Read more...] about eufy Indoor Cam Pan 2K Review: Pan, tilt, and promises
Microsoft launches work-from-home audio gear, including Surface Headphones 2+
Microsoft has dropped a number of new products this morning, including some gear tailored made for the work-from-home life. The headline product is the Surface Headphones 2+ For Business, a productivity-focused version of the vanilla Surface Headphones 2. The main difference? Well, these are “Certified for Microsoft Teams,” thanks to a number of videoconferencing-specific features. The Surface Headphones 2+ uses a USB dongle for a “rock-solid connection,” as Microsoft states. It also comes with a dedicated Teams button and synchronized call controls. You can also connect using Bluetooth, making the Surface Headphones 2+ also more compatible with devices like smartphones. Other than that, the Surface Headphones 2+ For Business are identical to the standard version . They include the same headphone earcup design, which includes its intuitive dial control, 13 levels of active noise cancellation, 15 hours of voice calling battery life, and a matte black finish. The Surface … [Read more...] about Microsoft launches work-from-home audio gear, including Surface Headphones 2+
eufyCam 2 Review: No wires, no subscription
Source: iMore Security cameras are some of the most popular, and most important accessories of the modern smart home. These connected cameras keep us informed of the state of our homes, both inside and out, at all times. If something happens to be amiss, smart cameras give us the ability to review and share videos instantly, helping to identify culprits, or that pesky animal that keeps tearing up the garden. While it certainly isn't the first all-wireless camera system around, the eufyCam 2 comes with a refreshing way to manage recordings, doing so without the need for a subscription. This, coupled with a low entry cost, makes it one of the most affordable, and feature packed accessories around. I recently had the chance to test out a two camera starter kit from eufy, and I have found to be a fantastic option for those in the camera market, especially for those that value privacy as it works with Apple's HomeKit . No wires, no subscription eufyCam 2 Wireless Home … [Read more...] about eufyCam 2 Review: No wires, no subscription
Microsoft makes the Surface Laptop 4 official, offers choice of AMD or Intel
After recent leaks suggested an imminent arrival, Microsoft has officially launched the latest entry in its line of Surface PCs: the Surface Laptop 4 . The new laptop starts at $999 and will be available to purchase in the US, Canada, and Japan as of today, with shipping beginning on April 15. Microsoft says more markets will follow in the “coming weeks.” In the US, those who buy the Surface Laptop 4 through Microsoft or Best Buy before April 15 will get a pair of Surface Earbuds headphones bundled in at no extra cost. Familiar hardware Further Reading Hands-on with Microsoft’s barrage of new Surface devices As for the device itself, the Surface Laptop 4 is more of a refinement than a reinvention of the previous Surface Laptop 3, which launched in late 2019 . That laptop’s build quality was generally well-regarded, and the design here is more or less identical to before. There are still two models, one with a 13.5-inch touch display and one with a 15-inch … [Read more...] about Microsoft makes the Surface Laptop 4 official, offers choice of AMD or Intel
