Women United, an affinity group of Capital Area United Way, has presented Girl Scout Service Unit 120 with 82 STEM kits. The kits will be distributed to the scouts, and a STEM teacher will teach them the material on an upcoming date. According to Girl Scouts, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) programs engage young women in topics and scientific reasoning and allow them to apply concepts in new ways. These programs encourage girls to engage in cooperative learning as they work together to solve problems, lead their own explorations and take on leadership roles. Scouts can earn badges for activities like science and technology, innovation and digital arts. STEM kits were sponsored by Shell, The Links Baton Rouge Chapter, Capital Area United Way and STEM Nola. A 15-YEAR-OLD girl was raped by three boys after they stole her phone and “lured” her into a park, police have said. Police are appealing for witnesses after the horror event on Monday March 22 in Pepys Park in Lewisham, South East London. Cops say the girl got on a bus towards the area in the capital at around 4.30pm. When she got off the bus, she walked towards Pepys Park where she sat on a bench near the football cages. A boy approached her and was joined by two other boys, who are alleged to have stolen her phone and ran off. The victim and the first boy are then reported to have followed the two others to another part of the park, where the three boys are alleged to have pinned her down and raped her. The first boy is described as black, aged approximately 16 or 17, with no facial hair. This morning on ABC's The View Marvel announced that Thor, Marvel's God of Thunder, will be a woman in the comics. The news is a major shift in Marvel's continuity, since Thor is one of the oldest superheroes in the Marvel universe. The new storyline will launch this October, penned by series writer Jason Aaron. Whoopi Goldberg, The View' s moderator, didn't mince words when she talked about the announcement. Children's campaigners and a UK Member of Parliament have criticised upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive Detroit: Become Human for its controversial domestic abuse scene. At Paris Games Week in October, Detroit hit the headlines after Sony released a trailer for the game in which scenes of domestic abuse and child abuse feature heavily. In the video we see android housekeeper Kara thrust into an uncomfortable domestic abuse situation. She's charged with taking care of a young girl who is attacked by her belt-wielding single father. The video tries to get the point across that you're able to change the course of events at multiple points in the scene. The video shows that one of the potential moments sees the young girl shoot her father as he chases Kara.
