The allure of the Women's Super League (WSL), and the opportunity to experience something new was a dream come true. After finishing the season at Bayern, she packed her bags and headed for London. German police arrested a 65-year-old Croatian man after he landed at Frankfurt airport on Thursday morning, the police said on Friday. The police acted on a European-wide arrest warrant issued by Croatia that alleges the man's involvement in war crimes during the breakup of Yugoslavia in the 1990s. The warrant specifically mentioned his involvement in four murders. Police picked up the alleged war criminal after he arrived on a flight from the Serbian capital, Belgrade. They did not name the man or provide any further details. "The man is accused of four counts of joint murder during the Yugoslav civil war," police told German news agency dpa. A spokesperson for the Frankfurt district court told dpa that the court would decide on extradition proceedings in the next few weeks. Germany's domestic intelligence agency must not declare the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party a case for surveillance until proceedings brought by the party to challenge such a move have concluded, a court order stated on Friday. German media had reported a day earlier that the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV), had placed the entire AfD under surveillance. The BfV was apparently unable to announce the decision officially due to the ongoing legal dispute. A new £300million recovery package for sport in England was announced by the Government on Wednesday as Chancellor Rishi Sunak delivered his Budget in the House of Commons. The Treasury on Twitter would then declare that there was “£300m to back clubs and governing bodies across a wide range of sports in England”. Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden said on Twitter that the £300m fund would “help spectator sports such as cricket, tennis and horse racing”.
