A family dog has been returned to its loving owners after they received a terrifying phone call from a stranger who demanded £1,000 for the pet's safe return. Rescue dog Casper, a white and brown Shih Tzu, went missing on Good Friday in Whitegate near Winsford in Cheshire. Owner Jane Hough, 50, was having a socially distanced birthday celebration with friends in her garden when she received the devastating news that Casper was missing, reports Cheshire Live . The following day, she received a phone call from an unknown man who claimed to be in possession of Casper, also known as 'Tinky', and demanded £1,000 for the dog's safe return. Jane said: "It was not very pretty what was said. It is classed as blackmail and we have been asked for £1,000 for the return of Casper but these people can not prove to me that they have him. The Queen described her husband the Duke of Edinburgh's death as leaving a "huge void in her life", Prince Andrew has said. Paying tribute to his father, Prince Philip , the Duke of York said his death means "we've lost almost the grandfather of the nation". Andrew is feeling "very sorry and supportive of my mother who's feeling it probably more than everybody else", he added. Members of the Royal Family have been attending a service at the the Royal Chapel of All Saints of Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park. The Queen has described the loss of her beloved husband Prince Philip as "having left a huge void in her life", their son Prince Andrew revealed today. The Duke of York said the monarch was "feeling it more than everybody else" but was remaining "incredibly stoic", as he described his father's death as a "terrible loss". Prince Philip’s death has "left a huge void" in the Queen’s life, said the monarch’s second son Prince Andrew. Commenting on his father’s death, the Duke of York said that Britain has lost the grandfather of the nation and that the Royal Family was feeling a great sense of loss following the royal’s passing.
