Advisor Says Rudy Giuliani No Longer Donald Trump’s Attorney Amid $1.3Bn Dominion Lawsuit

Former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani is no longer serving as the personal attorney of former President Donald Trump , according to a Trump spokesman. Giuliani has recently been targeted by Dominion Voting Systems in a $1.3 billion lawsuit over his claims that the company's voting machines helped "steal" the 2020 presidential election from Trump. Most recently, Giuliani served as the public face of the Trump campaign's attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election in courts and state legislatures. As part of his efforts, Giuliani and other Trump supporters claimed that Dominion voting machines had been programmed to flip votes away from Trump to President Joe Biden . Dominion has repeatedly denied the allegations, and in January, filed a $1.3 billion defamation lawsuit against Giuliani and Trump-supporting attorney Sidney Powell , another former member of the Trump campaign's legal team. On January 25, Dominion CEO John Paulos said in a statement … [Read more...] about Advisor Says Rudy Giuliani No Longer Donald Trump’s Attorney Amid $1.3Bn Dominion Lawsuit

Democrats look to improve outreach to Asian and Latino communities

Democrats across the country are looking to improve their standing with minority voters after the party underperformed with some groups in November’s general election. The party lost a number of races up and down the ballot in Florida, Texas and California, where a sizable portion of voters from Asian and Latino communities voted for Republicans. As Democrats busy themselves with the 2020 postmortem to understand how they can better their strategy heading into the midterm elections, party operatives say more time needs to be spent in individual communities with an emphasis on direct outreach to persuadable and hard-to-reach voters. ADVERTISEMENT “Not one single voting bloc in this country is monolithic, especially the more consequential voting blocs, and that includes voters of color,” said Democratic strategist Antjuan Seawright, who played a role in the effort to galvanize the Black vote in Georgia in last month’s Senate runoffs. “We’ve got to get back to the basics … [Read more...] about Democrats look to improve outreach to Asian and Latino communities

Taliban Issues Decree Banning Foreigners from Joining

The Taliban issued an official statement Tuesday warning leaders in the terrorist group they will face internal punishment if they allow non-Afghan citizens into the group or otherwise “harbor” them. The statement follows repeated warnings from the administration of President Joe Biden that Washington may not keep its promise to withdraw fully from Afghanistan by May if the Taliban does not adhere to the two major promises it made in a peace deal with the prior Trump administration: to stop harboring members of international terrorist groups, particularly al-Qaeda, and to stop attacking U.S. soldiers. The Pentagon recently observed one year without U.S. military deaths in Afghanistan, partly due to the peace agreement brokered by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo last year. The Taliban has significantly refocused its attention to attacking the legitimate government of Afghanistan, resulting in minimal American casualties but escalating violence hurting Afghan security forces. … [Read more...] about Taliban Issues Decree Banning Foreigners from Joining
