French conservative writer and journalist Eric Zemmour has claimed that “Islamo-leftists” have replaced their chief enemy, the bourgeois class, with white people and hope to build a “Muslim proletariat”. The timing was odd. The parameters were blurred. The internal dynamics are sketchy. On the surface, it certainly appears that Pride Toronto and the Toronto Police Service have made peace. The Cornell University Faculty has passed a resolution calling on campus police to not “require raced descriptions of suspects” in campus crime alert emails because such descriptions reinforce violence against black people.
