Focus Features Releases ‘Boogie’ From Eddie Huang; ‘My Salinger Year’ And ‘Boss Level’ Debut – Specialty Preview
Even though its moving at a slower pace than many would like, the vaccine rollout is starting to gain some traction and in turn, moviegoers are going to start setting foot in theaters — safely of course. That said, the specialty box office space might be hearing some more coin drop into its piggy bank in the forthcoming months. It’s been quite a journey, but we’ll get there slowly yet surely. Eddie Huang, who is best known for writing the best-selling Fresh Off the Boat: A Memoir which was the inspiration for the popular ABC sitcom, makes his feature directorial debut with Boogie which Focus Features releases in theaters today. The story follows Alfred Chin (Taylor Takahashi) who goes by the name “Boogie”. He is a basketball phenom living in Queens, New York and dreams of one day playing in the NBA. However, his parents have other plans for him. They want him to put all of his focus on earning a scholarship to an elite college. Through it all, Boogie must find a … [Read more...] about Focus Features Releases ‘Boogie’ From Eddie Huang; ‘My Salinger Year’ And ‘Boss Level’ Debut – Specialty Preview
Queen gifted pair of new ‘adorable’ corgi puppies years after last one died
The Queen has welcomed two new puppies to her household. For the first time in two years Her Majesty will have a couple of corgis at Windsor Castle. It is not known what the name, ages or sex of the pets are, but they seem to have come at a good time, with the monarch needing some company while Prince Philip is in hospital. “The Queen is delighted," a source told The Sun. "They have only been there a couple of weeks but are said to be adorable and made the castle their home. “Both are said to be bringing in a lot of noise and energy into the castle while Philip is in hospital.” It is thought that the dogs were a gift, filling a dog shaped whole in Elizabeth II's life. On her 18th birthday in 1944 she received a corgi called Susan who subsequently provided more than 30 descendants. The last of them, Whisper, died in 2018, leaving the Queen corgi-less for the first time in 74 years. Before her latest pair of pups, Her Majesty's only remaining dog was Candy the dorgi, … [Read more...] about Queen gifted pair of new ‘adorable’ corgi puppies years after last one died
Why Paramount’s biggest show, Yellowstone, isn’t on Paramount Plus
Paramount Plus launched Thursday, replacing CBS All Access with a new name and a bigger library of stuff to stream. But missing from its widened selection is the single TV show most associated with the Paramount name right now: Yellowstone . The epic cowboy drama has been a breakaway hit for the Paramount Network , one of ViacomCBS' cable channels. And Paramount Plus will have a new Yellowstone prequel to stream later this year, with another spinoff to come. But if you want to binge Yellowstone itself, you need to mosey over to Paramount Plus' rival Peacock , which has the exclusive rights to stream the first three seasons. When Yellowstone returns after its cliff-hanger finale last year -- an episode that drew in the biggest audience of any scripted TV show on cable last year -- you can expect season 4 will be on Peacock too. And Yellowstone isn't the only high-profile ViacomCBS program missing from Paramount Plus. If you're looking for Comedy Central's South … [Read more...] about Why Paramount’s biggest show, Yellowstone, isn’t on Paramount Plus
Chairs Technica: We review two new models from Anda Seat
Further Reading Gaming chairs or work-from-home chairs? Ars tests two under $500 Last October, we reviewed a pair of gaming/home office chairs— Secretlab's Omega and Anda Seat's more explicitly gaming-themed Fnatic . After several weeks of daily use, the Anda Fnatic took the crown for "favorite chair in the Salter household"—so when Anda offered two more models for review, we snapped them up. Those two models are the Kaiser 2 and T-Pro 2 , neither of which has an explicit esports team affiliation like the Anda Fnatic. This means a more austere appearance—particularly in the case of the T-Pro 2, which doesn't share the Fnatic's and Kaiser 2's neck-height "wings." Much like the Fnatic, these are excellent chairs—but having all three on hand at once made it clear how important picking the right chair for you and your body really is. Unboxing and assembly Assembling the Fnatic, Kaiser 2, and T-Pro 2 chairs all follows the same, simple blueprint: Stuff … [Read more...] about Chairs Technica: We review two new models from Anda Seat
