While this answer could be classified as a typical politician's language, it's good to hear that Buttigieg is aware that as the national vehicle fleet turns over to one that's increasingly more electric, the national gas tax will continue to lose revenue and be less effective. In the long term, “as vehicles become more efficient and we pursue electrification, sooner or later there will be questions about whether the gas tax can be effective at all.” … [Read more...] about Buttigieg: Hike In Federal Gas Tax Possible, As Is Getting Rid Of It

As Donald Trump’s team exits, here are Joe Biden’s choices to replace them
"We can defend workers rights, we can strengthen collective bargaining. We can grow union membership. Why LGBTQ Americans are seeing the sun again
What could that look like under the Biden administration? With a friendlier Congress now in place, it could mean passage of the Equality Act, which Biden has pledged to sign in his first 100 days and which would provide blanket protections against discrimination for LGBTQ people. These are tepid affairs. They can produce unlikely combinations and hard pivots: the members of Pearl Jam asking Jill Biden about the death of Beau Biden, Doug Emhoff interviewing James Taylor. There is no ambiance, per se. The window of a Zoom call, even a private, password-protected Zoom call, does not feel like a place of community where candid statements and confidences can flow freely.
