Story Updated 10/20/12 5:55PM Despite what retro sci-fi films show us, robots aren't always large, clunky machines with clamps for hands. Enter Romo, a pint-sized personal bot that combines the brain power of a smartphone and the wheels of a radio-controlled car. He is a pet, toy and robotic avatar all rolled up in one. Created by Romotive , Romo has an iOS brain, according to the company's Kickstarter page . Users simply dock their iPhone 4, 4S or fourth-generation iPod Touch into a mobile robotic base, and use another mobile device to drive him. A range of devices, including iPhones, iPads , iPod Touches, Macs and even web browsers can serve as the controller. Building a bot won't require a degree in robotics engineering, anymore. Now, everything you need comes in a kit. Called the Multiplo Robot Building Kit, it helps people create, program and control their very own droid. Users get a box that includes laser-cut components for frames, hinges, wheels and gears. The parts are designed to fit together, so tools aren't required. "You can build a simple robot in about 45 minutes," Multiplo's creators claim on its Kickstarter page . Of course, a body must come equipped with brains. Enter the DuinoBot, an "all-in-one robot controller" with motor outputs, easy-to-use sensor connectors, and a plastic case, among other features. It's also compatible with Arduino, an open-source electronics prototyping platform. USA Today has released the first photos from DreamWorks Animation's upcoming sequel Hotel Transylvania 2 . They also reveal that comedy legend Mel Brooks has joined the voice cast as Vlad, the father of Adam Sandler 's Dracula. His animated alter ego can be seen in the sneak peak images below, alongside other returning characters. The original Hotel Transylvania , which took in $254 million worldwide in 2012, followed Dracula and the relationship with his daughter Mavis ( Selena Gomez ), who doesn't like being cooped up in this hotel strictly for monsters. She meets Jonathan ( Andy Samberg ), the first human ever to set foot inside the hotel, and instantly falls for his less-monsterous ways. Star Wars is going to have a busy few years on the small screen. The long-awaited Obi-Wan Kenobi miniseries, which is expected to release on Disney Plus next year, is the closest the galaxy far, far away has come to continuing the direct story of the Skywalker Saga in a TV series. This is an exciting prospect. As well as featuring multiple actors from the movies reprising their roles, Star Wars: Obi Wan Kenobi will bridge the long gap between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. Ewan McGregor will again star as Obi-Wan in what Lucasfilm describes as a 'special event series', strongly suggesting this will be a self-contained show, rather than an ongoing series in the vein of The Mandalorian . Ready your salt servers for this latest rumor, as a new insider report claims that Sony Pictures has reportedly expressed interest in bringing back director Sam Raimi and star Tobey Maguire for Spider-man 4 , continuing the franchise they started back in 2002. Now, while this latest Spidey rumor will require a fist full of salt to help it go down, it is worth remembering that, not only is there heavy speculation that Maguire will return to the role for the MCU's Spider-Man: No Way Home , but that both Marvel and DC are planning on going to some crazy places as they branch out into exploring the multiverse. The report goes on to state that, for now at least, this is simply an idea that is being considered by Sony and that neither Sam Raimi nor Tobey Maguire have yet discussed the possibility of a fourth movie in their Spider-Man series.
