While we wait for Intel to reveal its latest 11th generation desktop processors at an event on March 16 , it looks like a German retailer may have jumped the gun, and listed the Intel Core i7-11700K for €469 (around $570 / £410 / AU$730). Workers’ Party publishes its Population Policy Paper

SINGAPORE: The Workers' Party has released its own paper on Population, just two weeks after Parliament endorsed a report charting the country's strategies to mitigate an ageing and shrinking population. Titled 'A Dynamic Population for a Sustainable Singapore', the Workers' Party makes a case for a population projection of about 5.8 million by 2030. This is down from the 6.9 million in the government's White Paper. The party aims to achieve that with an annual resident workforce growth of one per cent, a freeze to the foreign workforce growth rate and a projected GDP growth of between 1.5 and 2.5 per cent in the next decade. That is half a percentage point down from the government's GDP projections. The recent debate on population issues was one of the most passionate seen in Parliament with MPs from both the ruling and opposition parties raising concerns over issues such as over-crowding, the Singapore identity and quality of life. All nine Workers' Party MPs had opposed … [Read more...] about Workers’ Party publishes its Population Policy Paper

RTX 3080 Ti, RTX 3070 Ti rumored to feature Ethereum mining limiter

Rumor mill: Nvidia's decision to limit the Ethereum mining performance of the RTX 3060 was a move welcomed by most gamers, and while the company said it wouldn't be hamstringing the performance of any current cards on the market, it never said anything about future models. According to new rumors, team green's upcoming RTX 3080 Ti—and probably the RTX 3070 Ti—will feature the same mining limiter. When Nvidia revealed the RTX 3060, it said that new release drivers for the card can detect "specific attributes of the Ethereum cryptocurrency mining algorithm, and limit the hash rate, or cryptocurrency mining efficiency, by around 50 percent." There were questions over whether this supposedly unhackable limiter would also affect other Ampere-based cards running the same driver, but the company confirmed it is not limiting the performance of GPUs already sold. It will have 12G 19Gbps VRAM and an ETH mining nerf too. — kopite7kimi (@kopite7kimi) March 4, 2021 According to … [Read more...] about RTX 3080 Ti, RTX 3070 Ti rumored to feature Ethereum mining limiter

SINGAPORE: Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said the government is adjusting the balance between its key goals to achieve Singapore's future objectives. Mr Lee, who likened these goals to yin and yang elements that complement each other, said it is important to strike a balance between them.
