The index started off strong with a gain of nearly 10 points in the morning to hit the 1,990 range and stayed in the green mostly before plunging in the afternoon and closing with a 0.44-point increase, its fourth gaining session in a row. Trading volume on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE), on which the index is based, fell 4.7 percent to VND15.22 trillion ($659.5 million). The bourse saw 227 stocks gain and 190 lose. The VN30 basket, comprising the 30 largest capped stocks on the HoSE, saw 12 tickers gain, led by TPB of private TPBank, up 6.3 percent to a new all-time high of VND29,750. The ticker has surged 8.8 percent in the last three sessions. HDB of HDBank followed with a 3.5 percent gain. REUTERS: The Scottish Football Association (SFA) has urged clubs to stop conducting training sessions and adhere to government guidelines on the coronavirus crisis. Following a meeting of their joint response group, the SFA has reminded member clubs "in the strongest possible terms" to "desist" training activities and follow the social distancing advice outlined by the government. "I would urge our members, and especially our Affiliated National Associations responsible for grassroots football, to ensure clubs observe social distancing guidance outlined by government," SFA chief executive Ian Maxwell said in a statement. NEW YORK: Wall Street stocks finished a topsy-turvy session sharply higher on Tuesday (Mar 10) in anticipation of US stimulus measures as oil prices bounced. A day after suffering its worst decline in more than 11 years, the Dow Jones Industrial Average piled on 1,167.14 points (4.89 per cent) to reach 25,018.16. The broad-based S&P 500 also jumped 135.67 points (4.94 per cent) to 2,882.23, while the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index gained 393.58 points (4.95 per cent) to 8,344.25.
